Join Matt Dolezal for a progressive approach to asana will work through a variety of traditional poses skillfully sequenced towards a challenging peak posture with both effort and grace. Calm & Centered

Start your week off right with an alignment-based intentional vinyasa with Stacey Swerer. This slow flow class will focus on proper alignment and biomechanics to move through a layer of postures that are skillfully sequenced and have you working towards a peak pose with safety and integrity. Tips and techniques will be offered to refine your personal practice through the shapes and forms of traditional yoga postures. Breathwork and/or meditation may be included. *Please bring a blanket, block and strap.

Functional Yoga

Join Matt for Functional Yoga, an educational class that works through specific regions of the body using proper alignment and functional movement to empower the student's personal practice with self-care and awareness. The aim of this class is to slow the practice down with the breath to understand the body more mindfully and advance one’s practice at a gradual pace. Similar to a workshop style, this class breaks the practice down with tips and techniques that are invaluable to the practitioner on and off the mat. Take this practice into everyday situations to support quality posture and healthy movements for the longevity of life. *Please bring a blanket, block and strap.

Happy Hips

Join us for this practical, pragmatic and accessible hip opener practice that will focus on the feet, legs, and hips in a well-rounded asana class. Happy hips aims to cultivate knowledge of the hip girdle region of the body and its overall importance to the practice of modern postural yoga. This slow, deep and educational class will offer healthy fluid movements to access more mobility in the pelvis and stabilizing support for the low back. The goal is to understand key movement patterns, basic biomechanics, and a wealth of information to empower oneself on and off the mat with happy hips and a healthy low back. Guided pranayama and meditation will be added at the end of class. *Please bring a blanket, block and strap.

Yoga Playground

Join us for this NEW fun class that will tap into the play of yoga in a safe and dedicated manner. This exploratory practice will be more of a workshop style presentation where we try new things, incorporate more student-teacher collaboration, and reach into the heart of yoga with a playful approach to asana. Classes will be challenging, empowering, and enthusiastic to tap into the spirit of practice with care and intention. Supporting each other along the way through the ups and downs of life, but together we get more skillful at riding the waves. This is truly a practice of making friendships, cultivating a sense of connection, and getting to know each other more fully within the boundaries of poses and play to offer social interaction with more meaning.

Dynamic Flow

In this dynamic strong flow class we will embrace the vinyasa style with breath based movement. The aim of this class is to practice with keen awareness and an energetic presence to link poses skillfully sequenced together in the boundary of the breath. This powerful intermediate practice calls upon ujjayi pranayama, knowledge of poses with proper placement and precision in movement to access your full potential as a student of yoga. Alignment cues will be minimal, but rather tapping into the empowerment of remembrance and deep self-inquiry as a practitioner. Cultivating strength and stability to enliven the spirit of the practice back on the mat with Prana- vitality, energy, power, change and movement. We like to call this style a “GO Practice.”

Yoga Instructor:

Pam Novotny

For the past six years I have devoted myself to the practice of Kaiut Yoga. The idea that I might teach it one day grew along with my passion for the Method. At first, Kaiut Yoga was all about healing my ankle after three major surgeries in a single year, which left me barely able to walk. I was practicing Kaiut Yoga at Barn Yoga in Boulder then, and I knew I’d found a special community that was as healing to me as the yoga was.

My first Kaiut Yoga teacher training was with Francisco Kaiut in Boulder in 2020. The second session was scheduled for later that year, but the pandemic showed up. Francisco stayed in his home country of Brazil and taught the next teacher training from Brazil on Zoom to students all over the world –including me. I now have 400+ hours of teacher training in Kaiut Yoga.

My husband and I moved to Fort Collins in 2021 to be closer to family. I had already begun teaching Kaiut Yoga for Barn Yoga Boulder on Zoom and I’ve continued that from Fort Collins. When I found that there were no Kaiut Yoga classes here, I realized I would not only be a teacher, but I’d have to start a business. Redoubling the effort I’d already begun with Francisco Kaiut to become a Kaiut Yoga teacher, Kind Yoga NoCo was born.

I’m excited to introduce Kaiut Yoga to the people of Fort Collins and to share the joy and healing of this method. I also plan to continue studying with Francisco, deepening my understanding of the Method, and honing my skills as a teacher.

Class Description

Kaiut Yoga

Kaiut Yoga is a modern take on traditional yoga, addressing our 21st century bodies in a way no other yoga does. Yoga master and doctor of chiropractic Francisco Kaiut developed this method, aiming for a calm nervous system and healthy joints rather than muscles and stretching. You won’t find aggressive movements or impossible poses in a Kaiut class. Instead, you’ll enjoy a personalized form of yoga, which for decades has delivered positive results to people of all ages, body types and fitness levels, including those who are inflexible, hyper-mobile, or who have a history of injuries.

Poling Chan

Wellness classes grounded in the wealth of knowledge in mental health, qigong movement and yoga practice. Opportunities to those seeking to balance their nervous system and restore to flow in a nourishing studio space.

Instructor

Poling Chan

Poling Chan is a psychotherapist in private practice in Fort Collins. As she listens to many narratives of her clients , she is convinced that wellness rests in accessing our energy from within and through our connection with others. As a native of Hong Kong, Poling witnessed the practice of Tai Chi and qigong in parks, and was impressed by the popularity of such practice from all walks of life. She wishes to make this ancient practice accessible for our contemporary times, learning simple yet graceful sequences in a supportive studio environment.

Poling’s journey with yoga was “love at first class” in 2008. She returned to taking more classes just to “earn the reward” of savasana and never stopped. In 2015 she completed her training as a yoga teacher and consistently practiced Vinyasa with her community at a local studio. During Covid years, she discovered the jewels of yin and restorative yoga, finding “shelter at home “by releasing from within. This has further informed her work with clients who seek to connect their body with mind as a way to heal. Poling now brings her skills from the therapy room to the Yin and Restorative Class where students would be guided to hold, unwind, relinquish and reset.

Morning Qigong

Qigong is a healing practice to activate and expand our energy, through gentle and rhythmic movement coordinated with steady breaths. It serves to regulate our nervous system by facilitating a meditative flow state. It is available to people of all ages and fitness levels. In this morning class, we would explore sequences such as Shibashi ( Eighteen Movements) set 1 and 2 and The Eight Brocades. Using a chair for additional support is a fine option.

Yin & Restorative Yoga

This class emphasizes holding poses/shapes for longer duration, allowing the connectives issues such as fascia to be fully released. Such deep stretch is followed by supporting the body in restful positions, enhancing flexibility and mobility in the long run. We ground by using the floor, props and breath awareness.

A Heart Awakened
